about half a year ago I discovered some excellent St. Louis style bbq ribs, I also like the lechona tolimense from my native country, which consists of rice cooked in a pig, then service with pork and skin (sounds nasty I know, but its amazing and I have yet to find a good one in this country), also morcilla (I think they call it blood sausage here), and arepa with white cheese and butter (arepa is made of 100% corn, think of a tortilla, but several times thicket and softer), or arepa with beans on top.

I have also been a fan of fish for a long time, primarily tilapia, tuna and sardine patties with lots of lemon as well as crab legs and really like fried shrimp with lots of lemon (or better yet lime) again, full red herring, fried with limes.

I also discovered New Orleans style red beans and sausage at a restaurant, the spice is noticeable but appreciates the taste rather well. as well as this other dish who name is in french and it escapes me but its basically somewhat sweet and and quite spicy as well (new orleans dishes seem to share that characteristic) and has corn, chicken and tomatoes all together.

Filet mignon is also quite good, but only if it does not have any fat, I really hate fat, except for that found in chicharron (basically the skin of a pig with a layer of fat and reaching to the meat) fried, it is basically the only kind of fat that I seem to be able to stomach probably because the texture does not feel the same as other kinds of fats.

right now I cant wait to try Indian cuisine, for which I have a couple coupons but just lack someone to go with (doubt I would be able to consume $35 of food in one sitting by myself, the disadvantage of being rather skinny).

I suggest you guys look into http://www.groupon.com/ its a great site where if a certain number of people get in on a deal everyone gets a special offer, usually ranges between 20-75% off the full cost, either way, you get to try some interesting things you may have never tried before at a low budget. right now I am looking at bbq ribs, with fries and corn on a cob at the cost of what I would have paid for a big mac, really awesome. The site started in Chicago, but now they have offers in major cities all over the country
