As much as i am pessimistic about life...

This is what I have to offer:

There has to be SOME sort of immigration reform / effort before the midterm elections in 2010. This is a fact. Period. The democrats cannot save their asses from all those health reform hooligans if the latinos decide to not show up to the polls. If latinos are the tilting factor that causes the democrats to win they cannot afford them to sit at homes.

Immigration is the NUMBER 1 priority for latinos. If a full scale immigration reform gets defeated they will try to pass something more acceptable such as DREAM ACT. same way since obama couldnt get Single payer system in Health reform to pass so he made major compromises.

Its not like Obama hasnt heard of Dream Act before. He was very vocal for its passage before he became president. Im sure that its his trump card should widescale CIR become impossible in order for him to keep the latinos.

So cheer up. something is definately coming.
