Hello all,
My father got into a minor accident a few years ago, and the other party is sueing (this has been an ongoing case battle between insurance companys) when he use to be a taxi cab operator. He has a valid license however no status. (the license was valid made when we had work authorization). Now the lawyer said that my dad needs to go in and talk about the details of the accident that happened a year or 2 ago. But he is worried that they might directly ask him about status and if they do he obviously cannot lie. From there everything might come out and be critically put us in a extremely tough situation.
Anyone have any idea if they DO ask for any status during a court case where he has to go and present his side of the story? the lawyer is telling him no, but obviously he will be getting paid a lot for this anyways. ANyone ever had any situation on what he can do in this type of situation?
Do they ask about status? or is everything ok? i think its going to be held at a supreme court. The lawyer is telling him that he has to go.
