Not something to be proud of, but back when i used to drive like it was nothing, i was pulled over more than twice. It was always with my dad's car, and luckily close enough to my home that the officers always believed i was just "practicing for my road test". I'd hand them over my school ID, debit cards, anything with my name on it, they run my name for warrants, and let me go, telling me to go straight home.
Ive driven for over 4 years, but stopped driving last year (08 ) because fear took over and i couldn't deal with the near heart attacks i had when a cop was in my rearview.
I wasn't pulled over for major offenses, just one time for taillight, one time for making turns without signaling (one in a million chance but that day i got that ONE), and another for suspicious vehicle matching the description of a stolen car in the area (scariest moment of my life and deciding factor for my not driving again till DA passes). Never got a ticket each time, God must really like me.
Excuses honestly go so far, but it always takes being careful. And not being painfully nervous, but most of all, NOT LYING.
Its waayyy better not to drive in our shoes, but if you feel the need to, just keep both hands on the wheel, signal, do the speed limit, stop FULLY at stop signs, and don't hit any old people please. (lol, just tryin to loosen the tension w/a lil humor).
