I don't think this is necessarily the worst thing that has happened to me, but I do consider it high on my list.

Losing my grandmother to cancer (who I was very close to) a year and a half ago and not being able to be by her side was hard. Unbearable, actually.

Losing my best friend (pretty much my sister) when I was 14 was also extremely painful.
