I graduated from a 2-yr. nursing school in CA (took the NCLEX, passed, not working as a nurse) & there were 2 of us DREAMIES. We were very upfront about our situation with the dean. I told her about my situation during the interview.
I don't know about your school, but our malpractice insurance was through our school. We paid the school & they paid the insurance co.
Unfortunately, every clinical rotation you'll go through will ask for a social (paperwork in every facility & hospital). Your dean will help you through the paperwork. The other DREAMIE had no SSN (I do) but he was using his ITIN with the approval of the dean. The dean guided him in what to do. In fact, he used his ITIN to take the NCLEX.
Do you have your dean's email address? Is there any way you can get in touch with him/her? Just have all the requirements done ASAP (immunizations, BLS cert., Physical, drug screening, etc.). Do this last & get in touch with your dean. Wait until summer session & try to make an appt. with your dean & be up front. I know you want to get everything done quickly, but you don't want to botch this (& lose your slot in the program).

where did you go? ugh...I don't have an ITIN. The director told me someone was just finishing the program, but I don't know who he was. I was reluctant to ask about him. She'd probably wouldn't have given me his contact information; she would need his approval. I don't know who the dean is. I'll have to look that up. Thanks for the help!
