Hi, I have a potential job opportunity, but they asked me to bring a copy of my SS# card. Could I possibly use a Tax ID #? The job isn't anything serious.

By serious I mean it's not a full-time, complex job. Just a really simple/easy part-time job. So I dunno if that'll give me more leeway with the documents.

I want to call in and ask, but I don't want to just say 'Do you accept tax ID? I don't have an SS#.' I think I would feel kind of dumb, and I'm especially paranoid about them somehow using that info against me xD (not having a SS#)
