I don't know if the bush tax cuts as far as extending to the full taxable income to infinity passed or did not pass. As far as I am concerned the vote only took place on the two amendments proposed, then they went to give a bunch of speeches and the senate session ended and the senate will tackle the bush tax cuts for everyone on another day. Then again I switched off from CSPAN2 after I got tired of their broken record practices. Republicans said they wanted tax cuts for the people that created jobs and they considered those people to be the ultra mega rich, and democrats said that the small business owners are the ones that create jobs and that the middle income was disappearing and it needed to pass the 250k amendment to secure it... they kept on saying this for several hours straight in a myriad of different charts and manners, but essentially the same thing over and over again. I switched I guess about a hour before it finished, and can't find anything about them voting for the bush tax cuts for everyone anywhere, so I take it they will vote on it another day.

The two proposals that were voted on today were the Democratic proposals. There were 4 proposals that were suppose to be voted on (as test votes), but 1 Republican Senator has an objection therefore they scrapped the 2 Republican proposals and went with the 2 that the Dems want. It was a last minute thing that happened and it appears that even McConnell didn't know about it until Reid called him (from McConnell's own office) and notified him. So this just delays tax cuts even more.
