#1 If you do a crime you will be detained.

#2 If one gets a ban, one gets a ban. Depending on your country of origin you will have to go through different security once you land in your home airport.

When you apply for a visa (let's say you had to wait at least 10 years, but you didn't and tried to apply anyway), they will do a background check (FBI helps in this also), and because many countries share immigration information they will find a lot about you. There's also a lot of information you leave in the States; from the school you attended, any tickets you have had, to even a list of items you have bought with your card, which includes your plane ticket that has your name.

They can get a lot of information about people but the amount they review is based on how suspicious the person is. So, it's better to be honest from the beginning.

PS: I left a month ago, and I have to wait for a three year ban.
So I'm guessing you're about 18 years old? And you're going to attend a university in your home country?
