Flying has the least risk atm for travel IMO, that is if you cannot find someone to drive you personally.

If an agent pops in you are pretty much cornered, they are going person by person, there have been people that have mentioned feigning sleep, but doubt that works, if you say you are a citizen that could seriously get you in a lot more trouble than you could possibly want, specially when you cannot provide even a DL, saying that you are a LPR will cause them to inquire about green card or proof of legal status, so its really really very bad luck if you find yourself in that situation.

I would think that ICE agents board buses and trains at terminals, but cannot be entirely sure about that, I only fly.
