I have not read the entire article you posted yet, just the highlighted version, but I was looking rather intently during the campaign trail, his evasiveness on the issues of immigration just kept getting more and more prevalent as the election got closer.
He went from it is amnesty and he would never support it, to saying that it is amnesty because it benefits 2 million people, to stating that he would never be against legalizing people that serve in uniform, to his inauguration speech focusing on his immigrant roots and focusing on children (really a great speech if anyone saw it). But all the time, he just starts to immigration in all manners, I don't even know what his stance is at this moment.
He did dissociate rather publicly from the Tea Party within 1-2 days of getting elected, which provided me with some hope, but his evasiveness at giving a clear answer on immigration is getting more than a few people to the edge of their seats, as can probably be observed through the article.
