I don't know, I was only 5, but what I do know is that my dad got amnesty through the Special Agricultural Worker or SAW program, such program did not allow the legalization of family members 'till after 3 years I believe, my dad procrastinated for 11 years, then he finally decided to file for us. He took a 100+ trip to Los Angeles to do so, a year went by, and I, being 16yrs old, without any Immigration fraud experience, told him that it was fraud, and like the typical machista mexican dad, he replied "Tu que vas a saber de eso. He went back in a couple of months after that and voila! the guy that had done the filing was in jail, that's why.
