this is how you got fooled....now I'm not even into counterfeit perfumes but I guesstimate it's how it's done:

Some cheesy code which may be scanned then printed from the original will of course 'show' the same info as the original. Think of counterfeit dvd's. Some of the packaging will still show the original's bar code.

My guess is to keep perfumes 'authentic' a bunch of the real stuff is bought, put in a big tub, diluted with mad quantities of alcohol and then re-bottled. Since the knock off now doesn't contain the same quantity of aromatic oils and more alcohol content, shit'll smell the same, but won't last the same....they've essentially made a cologne out of it.

Like I said, I know jack shit about perfumes, but this goes through my mind when a deal that's too good to be true pops up. Think of your experience as having invested on another lesson from the school of life. Having said that, just black mail the guy that he's gonna get reported if you don't get your cash....use your street smarts yo.
