Of course, say for some reason you come across a check point and a CBP officer ask for your status you tell him you have none they will have to take you into custody to perform standard prOcessing like fingerprint and picture after that they will conduct a interview to see if maybe that person qualifies for the deferred process. If they don't they will probably nta them (notice to appear) aka put you in removal proceedings.
Like I said you will only have to worry about an interview if you get detained by CBP as far as we know there would be no interview. It's kinda like TPS people they don't get interviewed as long as they meet the requirements
