Also, for Florida Drivers, the following tests/courses need to be completed:
  • Traffic Law & Substance Abuse Education (can be taken online)
  • Road Rules and Road Sign test (must be taken in person if you are above 18 years old)
  • Vision and Hearing test
  • Driving Test (with your own vehicle)

If you're like me and have taken a driver's ed course in high school, you probably got a certificate showing your completion of the traffic law education and road rules test. However, that only seems to have been valid for one year. So, kinda sucks that we have to do all this stuff over again.

If however you want an immediate form of identification upon receiving your work permits, you can obtain a Florida ID card which should satisfy all your identification needs in lieu of a driver's license for the time being.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
You can just take the Road Rules and Road Sign test and if you pass that, you will get a learners permit. I was told that when it's convenient for me I can just make an appointment and take the Driving Test. I plan on doing it all in one shot, I going to make an appointment to take the Road Sign test and if I pass just call one of my friends and take the Driving Test. The worst that can happen is that I fail the Driving Test, but I would still be able to get a learners permit.
