If you enter the building thru front entrance you gotta make a right and go to lobby behind security guy that's where they have the check in for original SSNs. The security guy was really nice. There is also a side entrance to your right (when you're facing the building) and that's where you check in. You gotta fill out your form and wait. The lady that i got was prettt indifferent and just asked a couple of questions and asked if i understood that my answers would be recorded and could be used against me if lied etc. She took my passport and EAD. Printed a paper for me to verify info and gave me another stating i should recieve it in two weeks. I got it exactly a week after Good luck!!

Sorry for the really late reply. It's been a long weekend. But thanks for the information! I actually went to the office today and it was exactly how you described it. I actually had to go twice today. The first time I went, I didn't take my original birth certificate and took a photocopy, and so I was denied. The guy was pretty rude too. But then I went back a couple hours later with my original certificate, and the guy who helped me this time, was very polite, although indifferent as well. I can't wait til next week!

Wait seriously?? Do we absolutely need to make an appointment to for a driving test? That's ridiculous!

What DPS office did you go to?
