No your name doesnt have to be on the insurance. I let an 18yr old use my car for his behind the wheel test a couple of months ago. His brother was taking him so they just showed up in my car, provided the insurance card. And thats it. He passed!
And What do you mean financial responsability and insurance on your permit?
Financial responsability IS car insurance.
