There isn't any actual requirement for you to work if you're work authorized. They do not seem to particularly care about economic necessity, as the I-765WS doesn't seem to have any effect on approvals regardless*, so far I am yet to see one person who received DACA but was denied for a work permit.
The answer would be no. It doesn't matter if you work or not.
* - It seems like we only need to fill it out because 8CFR ยง 1274a.12 (c)(14) requires those granted Deferred Action to establish economic necessity in order to get a work permit.
