In order to take the board exams for nursing, I need to go through a series of applications including fingerprinting and applying at my state board of nursing (Nevada). This process takes a little more than a few weeks. There's a part in the app where they ask you for your citizenship status. Also, I do have a history of being detained for my immigration status. NOT a criminal act.

I don't want to wait any longer because I'm afraid I'm going to slowly lose my knowledge the longer I wait to take the exam. But if I do wait, at least if they question my status I can tell them I've been approved to legally stay here and work.

Do you or anyone you know have had a similar experience? Or care to share your thoughts on the subject?
