Don't stress to much about the wait, i had already given up on the wait and decided to take my chances to look for a job without it..told my employer about my wait and whether he would have an issue. luckily he didn't care about me not having the work permit because of my knowledge,
experience, and great references .

So don't stress it...or think too much just let it come when it may
