Compared to a decade or two ago. Right now a bachelors degree is the equivalent of a high school diploma back then. The jobs that our teachers used to make fun of and ridicule as the kind of industries that you would get into if you failed high school not only actively attend college career fairs but they have the longest lines. It's getting really bad out there.

The only reason I have been able to find a job at all has been purely due to networking, I have yet to find something that uses my degree, but unless you have a near perfect GPA, if you do not have the experience on the field you will find it almost impossible to even land a warehouse job.

If any of you are still in college, look for internships ASAP, start networking and talking to people in your field or who might know people in your field. Become close friends to upper classmen that are about to graduate and hope that they land jobs in areas that interest you and that they are willing to vouch for you. With the large number of applicants and limited number of positions companies are valuing recommendations from within a lot more and even rewarding employees that refer people that get hired.

If you graduated already, either try to get into a graduate program, or start looking for ways to get experience. Start doing community service or working with organizations purely for the ability to network with and hopefully finding a job eventually.
