I personally love this country, even with all its flaws. I choose to look at the bigger picture, the remarkable education I got here, the amazing friends I made and the countless memories I created. I don’t think that the people who chose to leave made a wrong decision. They have the entire world open for them now, except for the US. I hate when people think that there is a jungle outside the US. And besides, there might be a million different reasons why people choose to leave, I have one myself. On another note, OP is just asking for everyone to share their stories, so please stop judging people based on the decisions they made.

I would only object to the 'hassle-free simple life' statement. Life isn't easier just because you stopped being an illegal; to the contrary, I would say it's a bit more difficult (as I've stated above). Just saying.
