My issue is this. Assuming this amendment is added that means that those who haven't graduated from "an institution of higher learning" will not be able to have access to the bill's expedited five year path. What would happen when I do graduate? Would I still have to wait as long as my parents would? Yes, there are some who have had the opportunity to get a college education, but what about those who live in states that make them pay out of state tuition. What about dreamers living in Georgia? What about those who are still in High School? Also, college isn't for everyone. Some people don't get an education after high school and they do just fine. Some people join the armed forces after high school.

I just don't think it's fair. If you tell me, you can have access to the 5 year path as long as you can prove at the end that you have some sort of degree from an institution of higher learning, than fine. I'm ok with that, but to say that I will have to wait twice as long just because I'm not one of the few who have had an opportunity to go to college than that I have a problem with. How would you guys feel if they said that those who came here legally will have to wait 5 years and those who came illegally would have to wait 10 years. That wouldn't be fair either.

I graduated high school in 2011. I haven't been able to attend college yet because it is just too expensive. The local community college charges about a $1,ooo per class. My sister and I will be starting school soon though. A college education has always been in our plans. Things are finally starting to turn for us. Right now I just hope that there is a CIR, amendment or no amendment.
