When the emancipation proclamation was written and signed there were people back then arguing that it did not go far enough to solve the problem. Turns out they were right. It took another 100yrs before the civil rights act of 1964 came and fully put an end to institutional discrimination. That is my argument now, that this piece of legislation does not go far enough. But it might be up to another generation to fight but at least we should know that there is more to fight for.
