Of course, he is innocent until proven guilty, the state did not prove his guilt. The jury has to take whatever Zimmerman has said to be true.

A better question would be, why was Trayvon waiting, when Zimmerman WAS not there yet. What was Trayvon doing during that time when he was alone. Why didn't he continue going home when he was only 100 feet away? Zimmerman was not there yet, so Trayvon was not going to lead anyone to his house. Again, look at the timelime records of the 911 call and Trayvon's call with Rachel.

Zimmerman didn't confront Trayvon. Trayvon confronted Zimmerman, he didn't feel threatened.
With that thinking, you'll be the next Trayvon Martin, and the person defending themselves from your flawed thinking of assault first ask questions later will walk free.
