I agree with Swim. 8 lessons is plenty to pass the test assuming you don't screw up your parking, but it will be years before you can be a great driver and anticipate most of the things you'll encounter. Unfortunately, TOO MUCH confidence later can be a bad thing too and make you let your guards down to the point where you're just cruising along the freeway the same way you have 200 other times and not realize cars have all come to a sudden stop at an exit and boom. So don't do that either.

Pass your test and stay within your limits until you gain more and more confidence. You'll be alright.
