•Must not be 1) inadmissible on health grounds, 2) not have been convicted of a federal or state law carrying a maximum sentence of a year or more, 3) not have been convicted of 3 or more offenses w/an aggregate imprisonment of 90 days or more
•Provides biometric and biographical data
•Submits to a background check
•Pays all associated fees for the investigation and processing of the application



Eligibility for Removal of Conditional Basis for Permanent Resident Status:

•Acquired a degree, certificate, or other recognized educational credential from an institution of higher education
•Or, has completed an apprenticeship in a trade,
•Or has served for a full term of enlistment

Once an individual is granted permanent status, they may apply for naturalization.
*Note: that time in CPR status counts toward time in Legal Permanent Resident or Green Card status, meaning that the time counts toward the 5 years required for citizenship.
