My brother in law has been voice recording my sister in their house and in her van. She found the devices in his sock drawer. After he realized she found them, he filed an order of protection against her which was denied by the judge. A court date is set for next week. About 2 weeks ago she found a receipt in his "receipt drawer" where one of the voice recorders and a surveillance pen was purchased. She went to the store's website and looked up a picture of the surveillance pen. She remembers seeing a similar pen in her bedroom dresser, where she changes after she showers. She has no idea who has seen these images and is now very paranoid. She has lost her sense of comfort and her privacy in her own home.
The most disturbing part about this is that the receipt shows the items were bought using a police officer's store account!
I should mention we live in Illinois which has a law that "makes it a crime to use an "eavesdropping device" to overhear or record a phone call or conversation
without the consent of all parties to the conversation" ::

The cops wont even let her file a police report because according to them "they're married and he can do whatever he wants in his own house".
Attorneys have said over the phone that "that is a colossal invasion of privacy" but nobody is willing to help her without first paying a large retainer fee.
She is a stay at home mom of 2 kids under 3 years and has to rely on her husband's income. When she asks him for money, instead of him giving it to her, he purchases what is needed. For example.. earlier this week she asked him for gas money and instead of giving her money to fill up, he went with her and only put $15 worth, which is basically nothing.
She received a letter in the mail last week that lets her know her husband has hired an attorney.
Any advice/links/help is greatly appreciated!
