Use to own a 01 civic too, first car - very sturdy and serviceable.

1) Gas - Was a two-door, got around 28-32, depending on my driving and type of travel (highway vs. town).

2) Registering the Car - Got it before the title tax was implemented in GA, ad-volurm was about 40$ annually - i forget.

3) Insurance - Depends on your age, since I am 25, was paying 40$ under family plan.

4) Maintenance - Easy to maintain, oil change based on engine mileage (i.e. 2-3k for older engines).

Got the Civic for 3k at the time, automatic, two years ago now. Was pretty clean, however, a common problem with civics of that year (01') was the fuel gauge reader would go faulty - not really a problem since the light would still flash as I neared empty. Plus, I could usually estimate when I needed to refill.

Got a 08' four door now, two-door wasn't working for me - gave the other to my 17 year old brother. Was a good car.
