Something else you can probably do is say you were paid in cash. When I had to do my background check my recruiter said it doesn't matter if I was paid cash as long as I list EVERYTHING. I don't know how picky ikea is but you can always provide HR with the name and number of your employer.

Too late for that. OP already told Ikea that the w2 is "lost" and s/he is trying to "find" it. At this point the Ikea HR will most likely get suspicious of foul play if OP suddenly says s/he was paid in cash and turn down any offers they may have had in mind.
