Cheer@nilc.org and their response was that NILC can help raise specific cases with USCIS headquarters about 10 days before the expiration date. Also, to request assistance from uscis ombudsman and once you have done the online inquiry and forms contact any or all of the people below and give them your case number (ombudsman) and explain to them your situation.

I emailed them all yesterday. I don't have an answer from them yet but my DACA and work permit had my name updated yesterday and later on my DACA changed to approved. Still waiting on my work permit to get approved. Don't know if it helped or if they just happened to approve it but I find it a bit weird that only the DACA was approved since mostly everyone gets their work permit updated to approved first.
