Hey all,
I have a question here for anyone that has succesfully been granted AP for humanitarian reasons. Long story short, I tried to apply for AP but had a hard time getting the documents that would prove why I needed to leave the country notarized. I was told on a couple occasions that I would have to have a notary public that speaks my language, which makes sense. On another occasion, I was told that I had to have the original documents and then have the translated copy notarized.
Does anyone know how true the last statement is? I thought a legible copy of the original document would suffice. Can anyone shed any light on this? Did you have to have the original doctor's statement of your relative, birth certificate, death certificate, etc. with you when you submitted your AP application? I know that if you apply through mail you don't really get the original document back, if you do send the originals.
Thank you all so much for any help on this and my apologies if this has already been discussed.
