He agreed to do it, and on Friday I was finally approved. So try something along these lines. Additionally, I also submitted ombudsman request like a month ago, and on Friday I decided to emailed them to ask for an update because I did not want to lose my job due to financial hardship. I'm not sure if this was the triggered, but 30 minutes later after I sent that email I was approved!! So try both and good luck!!

Thank you for the advise and words of supports. I still have not been able to hear from the level 2 officer and I called today and spoke with a level 1. He informed me that it could 3-5 business days to get a call back but suggested that I try and call earlier in the day to speak with a level 2. I will definitely mention that my EAD expiring will be a financial hardship. I may have submitted form DHS-7001 to the Ombudsman a bit too late, only 5 days from my expiration. I received the automated message that they would respond withing 45 days. Regardless of that I will email them to see what can be done.
