I'm back.

I popped by the main office in San Antonio and the told me to go through their page/phone system.

I tried applying online, but it was blocking me from proceeding saying that I needed to provide citizenship information (it was showing the original info that I put in about being a citizen of another country).

I called in, but the lady on the phone told me that I needed to be either a USC or LPR to get a loan.

However, she updated my citizenship status to be a USC even though I told her I wasn't one. Now I can go through the website and apply for it that way. I don't want to do that since that doesn't seem right.

Anyway, I'm a USAA banking member because for a while they were offering accounts to anyone. Once I received my original EAD, I applied in person for an account and was granted one. I think they recently changed that so that only military members can join.

I could probably get my sister to co-sign me - she's USC/USAF/USAA, but I don't want to get her involved in my financial affairs.
