It's rough...20 years ago or so we found a pup in a junk yard and took her in and wasn't sure what she was so she got really big and the redneck neighbors who already didn't like us complained and we were forced to get rid of her. I haven't got another dog since and won't get another one until I have a green card, but I digress.

Home ownership in general is a giant pain in the butt and often isn't even the most economical solution since it keeps you from having employment mobility and by the time you figure in all the repairs, taxes, etc. you may actually lose money. You WOULD have to live in a smaller apartment for the numbers to work out but your numbers still sound weird to me.


I don't know where you live but in Texas at least, thanks to the oil bust and over building of "luxury" apartments, it's going to be interesting to see what happens with rent so good deals will be had.
