There is a small chance that my EAD may expire before it is renewed. Partly my fault because I filed it at 100 days. Anyhow, IF I notify my job and they permit me to work with the expired EAD (although this is highly unlikely), is this illegal?

Is this going to affect me later down the line for GC application or whatever (if that day ever even comes)?
