Maybe there is some other regulation or memo that authorizes something similar to that interim EAD. That document stated that the interim EAD was eliminated in 2006. That 120-day possibility was published post-DACA, so we're looking at the earliest, in 2012. Why would USCIS even contemplate the 120-day extension six years after it eliminated those interim EADs? Maybe there is something else out there that we're just not seeing because we're so focused on the interim EAD.
