I am going to talk to a few more folk about this and get a read out - but in my opinion this is major negligence on the part of USCIS, and class action doesnt seem like such a far fetched idea - since people are losing jobs, homes, cars, health insurance ect.

There's already been a class action lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington regarding issuing interim EADs:

Not all plaintiffs in the class are DACA applicants but the thrust of the lawsuit is the same: you need to issue interim EADs if you can't process in time.
