Is it possible to visit another country besides your country of origin while on advanced parole? I'm planning on going to Mexico, spending a week there and travel to Japan afterwards.

Has anybody done this?

There is a thread about it from a year ago, but I was hoping to get some more recent advice.
I got my AP approved to go to Canada (University program) but being Colombian I needed a visa to enter Canada. They denied my visa so I didn't go to Canada, I thought of going to Mexico using that same Advanced Parole document but after talking to about 5 attorneys only 1 thought it would be okay, the other 4 told me not to do it. I didn't do it and let the document expire.

I now reflect back to it and think I should of done it, I got denied my second AP to visit my wife's grandmother in Mexico. I regret not going to Mexico with the Document that was approved because I would of been able to adjust status.

Now I have to apply a third time. Hope this helps, I think you should do it.
