being me, i asked why they were skipping the fingerprinting and they told me that in some cases, when fingerprints have been taken somewhat recently, they just use that set of prints to run the background. i think the last time i got fingerprinted was when i renewed DACA in... 2015 i want to say. then i got my fingerprints taken again for graduate school applications in 2016, but i am not sure if this counts at all.

anyway. so the attendant told me that and he gave me a printout. on the USCIS website, it says the same thing--that they mailed me an interview notice on the 7th. i haven't gotten anything in the mail yet, but am hopeful to have something early this coming week.

has this happened to anyone else?

also, on the printout i got, it says "initial" interview--i thought there was only one? or is this just bureaucratese babble?

i am excited and a little bit nervous!

thanks for the advice to go to InfoPass!

also: many congratulations to all those who already got their GC! woo hoo!

That's awesome!!! Congrats! Start organizing your stuff for the interview!
