I'm in quite a predicament that has led me to complete anxiety these past few days. Last week, I realized that my EAD card expired on 1/16/15 and I have NOT sent in my application for renewal yet. Looking up when I should have sent it, of course the 150-120 day rule just had me dumbfounded. I spoke with an attorney yesterday in hopes to help remedy the situation, as well as to seek advice. She stated that it should be renewed, it will just take 4-5 months. But I am skeptical about this reassurance she's telling me.

Is anyone on the same boat? I am truly and utterly in trouble. I currently work as a RN for a facility and I am scared of getting suspended or worse, fired, due to my lax personality for this important piece of document.

Basically what I'm asking is: did anyone get approved after sending their renewal when their EAD card has expired already?

I understand this is a relatively new thing that USCIS has to handle with DACA. I don't want to accure unlawful presence and risk being deported and unable to return to the US for 3 or 10 years.
