I don't think it was ever cleared up. I believe the issue also had to do with Obama having a view of the Constitution. It was at some point floated around that his believe was that he couldn't use those powers, or that it would be innapropriate. It was his opinion though.

I feel you, if it makes you feel comfortable though, you're not alone and we are all there sharing that same pain. I do believe will be fine, even without a permanent solution.
