What is your opinion on dating someone that has an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend as a friend in their life?

Are you okay with this? Would you have issues? Let's say their last relationship was about 8-9 years ago (3rd time they tried to make it work), and just last year they kiss. BUT yet they consider to be just friends.
