Because one or the other is going to happen since dems control the house. To me (perhaps I'm biased) is that legalizing dreamers is much better than not getting his wall. He's going to get slammed regardless but the least worst option for him is to go the dreamer route.

The problem is Trump would prefer to 'legalize' us but only with renewable DACA and not PR.
Democrats will probably not agree to that.
