Trump said it since day 1, he was going to end DACA. The only reason he didn't do it in the beginning was because he was waiting to use the death of DACA as a bargaining chip for his wall. Now that the wall is dead, so is DACA, it's no use to him, which is why they're trying to kill it via the Supreme court now.
It's a bitter pill to swallow, but I have to agree with you on this. When I saw the roll back of deferred action for sick children and individuals I couldn't believe it. DACA and TPS are really the only 2 things left on the chopping block. We can only hope that the popularity, the amount of people enrolled and the timing of a DACA supreme court decision (possibly June 2020) will at least get us a temporary legislative patch.
