Also, he is technically not defying SCOTUS to my understanding. They said that he needs to provide proper justification and follow the appropriate legal means to rescind the program.... They did not rule the program to be constitutional, which a lot of people do not understand nor did they mention anything about his ability to limit benefits. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

While I do agree there would be a larger response if he fully rescinded the program, he's not getting more voters on his side. The difference here is he's going for a lose the minimum amount of republican voters instead of gaining voters. If that's the strategy you're admitting defeat. Which army would you join? An army with a leader that's trying to prevent people from leaving their army or an army with a leader that's successful in recruiting?
The administration is not following the supreme court ruling, at all, on purpose. You can see how messed up things are because the conservatives pre-2017 would've called for impeachment by now. The constitution is the core of conservatism, literally the most important thing to them, which is why Republicans fight for the Supreme Court so hard. How many "conservatives" now do you see now calling for action?
