I can attest that they are not doing that, at least maybe for the time being maybe due to COVID, idk. I got back from Mexico about 2 weeks ago and they did not do that. I am a permanent resident now but I don’t think that matters. The officer didn’t even take my fingerprints. Again not sure what the protocol is during the pandemic but I saw everyone get through customs pretty quick. Nobody got sent to second inspection. At least for the time that I was at the airport.
