What I am saying is that just because the Democratic Party tends to be pro-DACA, we shouldn’t settle for scraps and have this “oh well” mentality because at the end of the day, that isn’t going to get us anywhere. It’s just a matter of time when the higher court rules against us and then what?
And then we start putting pressure on them during an election year knowing damn well no one is going to even want to discuss the immigration issue then? No, the time for action is now!
The Democrats can do it, it’s just a matter of IF they want to do it. End the filibuster, put a reasonable bill for a vote, and dare the Democrats to vote for it or show their true colors. But to sit back and do nothing is not acceptable. It’s either now or never, because 2022 won’t be so kind to them and 2024 is not a lock!
