I learned my lesson so when I met my wife I poured everything out on the first date. I used to tell people riding a motorcycle is the purest form of freedom anyone will ever enjoy, but I was wrong. It will be the most satisfying and terrifying thing you will ever do in one conversation. Don't wait homie, live your best life.
I am sorry you had to deal with people who treated you with anything but kindness.

If the current situation doesn't pan out, I might consider doing the same. I live in Texas so deal with lots of republicans with their preconceived notions. I just don't want to put myself in a situation where I am letting my darkest secret out to a random on first date that may not go anywhere. Not to mention the potential harm they could do if things went south to other undocumented family members or if DACA was rescinded etc.
