Hello Guys,
It’s been years since I’ve been on this forum, hope everyone is well.
I know there are disrespectful trolls on here and honestly I don’t have time for nonsense, this is a serious situation and if you can’t relate or don’t have input just scroll and keep it moving. Thanks
I have had Daca since 2013 and waited patiently for the Laws to change.
It’s been 10 yrs and not much has changed with Daca. I told myself that I would wait to find love to marry and I did.
My BF and I have been dating for a year and he asked me to marry him, I never told him much about my status until he recently asked due to his job.
He is a federal employee/ military police and will be transitioning to a higher position at his job.
Unfortunately, with his job-he is required to have a security clearance- which means that he has access to top secret information and has to report any encounter or contact with a foreign national… which is me.
Since we plan on getting married, he reported that to his supervisor and he was told that since he is a citizen and I am not, when we do get married- he’s info would be flagged in the system/ and his security clearance would be under scrutiny.
I am in the process of calling around and finding an immigration lawyer to help us but I was told by a lawyer that the state of CA is not accepting applications for green cards from Daca receipients?? I am waiting to get a call back from another lawyer to see how accurate this is so I figured I would hop on here and see if anyone has been in a similar situation?
